Upgrades in Sequence During Current Ownership

 

  • In 2014, two separate Mermaid Marine air conditioner systems were installed with mahogany air returns and grills to match Lucky Dog's mahogany interior.  A 16500 BTU Cool/Rev Cycle AC/Heat with Climate Control Panel is installed in the pilot house and a 2nd 6500 BTU Cool/Rev Cycle AC/Heat with its own Climate Control Panel is installed in the forward cabin.  Both utilize dedicated transom drains and share a common March LC-5C-MD sea water pump.
  •  In 2014, original Atkins-Hoyle head and nav station ports were replaced with new Atkins-Hoyle 7x24 ports, and Lewmar Ocean Hatch Size 50 in nav station was replaced.
  • In 2015, a water system replacement was completed, including all new hoses, pumps, and two new stainless steel water tanks, replacing original aluminum tanks, for 90 GAL combined fresh water.  Both tanks are pre-plumbed for future water maker.   
  • In early 2016, a $40k haul-out by Scorpion Marine in Port Canaveral, FL included all blisters ground, hull left to dry 4 months, then filled, faired and barrier coated, with 6 coats Interlux Interprotect barrier coat, installation of new double backstays, installation of a custom Gozzard-built fiberglass bimini and arch (https://gozzard.com/2020/04/hardtops/), installation of a custom Gozzard-built compression post for deck step mast, (https://gozzard.com/2020/01/compression-post-upgrade-kit/), installation of custom Gozzard-built fiberglass winch pads with new port and starboard 46SST LEWMAR self-tailing 2-speed stainless steel genoa winches and blocks, with fiberglass winch pads and block from Gozzard, and installation of a Vetus Bow Thruster with dedicated battery/charger, cockpit joystick control and remote control by Florida Bow Thruster.
  • In late 2016, a $33k haul-out at Harbortown Marina in Fort Pierce, where Mack Sails of Stuart, FL installed a Schaefer Boom Furling System with new fully battened mail sail, and new Harken Unipower Radial 12V electric winch for push-button raising and furling mainsail and all new standing rigging.
  • In 2017, teak toe rails, eyebrows, and handrails were completely stripped, sanded and recoated with CETOL.  The mahogany taffrail was also fully restored to like-new condition.
  • In 2018, original Bomon pilot house windows were removed and replaced with new custom-fabricated Bomon pilot house windows, and interior mahogany window trim restored.  All exterior teak toe rails, eyebrows, and handrails were recoated with CETOL.
  • In 2019, new lifelines were installed by Harbor Square Rigging, Merritt Island, FL.  All exterior teak toe rails, eyebrows, and handrails were recoated with CETOL.
  • Upcoming 2020 haulout will include a fresh bottom job and topside polish, and installation of custom Gozzard-built fiberglass rubrails with stainless rub strakes, replacing original teak rubrails.   All exterior teak, including toe rails, eyebrows, and handrails were recoated with CETOL.
