Overview

This unique pre-owned sailing catamaran was designed and built by the very experienced hands-on team at Voyage yachts - South Africa and Tortola-based. Specifically for the day charter operator seeking more capacity than the highly successful smaller sister, the Voyage 450 DC, she has a capacity for 48 passengers. Additionally, she accommodates up to 12 passengers for term charter, with 4 queen-sized berths below decks, and an additional 2 on the covered bridge deck. This makes the 520 DC an extremely attractive money earner, that can generate earnings doing day, sunset, or evening cruises to the mass market, or leans perfectly to a smaller volume, high-end charters of similar nature. Additionally, the 520 DC can offer crewed or bareboat sailing charters for diving/snorkeling/surfing, kite surfing/ hiking adventures. So, after the busy winter season, the business can continue down islands, utilizing the potential of this versatile vessel to the fullest.

BOAT HIGHLIGHTS

This unique pre owned auxiliary sailing catamaran was designed and built by the very experienced hands-on team at Voyage yachts - South Africa and Tortola based. Specifically for the day charter operator seeking more capacity than the highly successful smaller sister, the Voyage 450 DC, she has a capacity for 48 passengers. Additionally, she accommodates up to 12 passengers for term charter, with 4 queen sized berths below decks, and an additional 2 on the covered bridge deck. This makes the 520 DC an extremely attractive money earner, that can generate earnings doing day, sunset or evening cruises to the mass market, or leans perfectly to smaller volume, high end charters of similar nature. Additionally the 520 DC can offer crewed or bareboat sailing charters for diving/snorkelling/surfing, kite surfing/ hiking adventures. So after the busy winter season, business can continue down islands, utilizing the potential of this versatile vessel to the fullest. The ideal vessel for a dynamic owner/operator.
Most of the equipment was either replaced or refurbished in 2019, so it is literally turn key. The custom hard top was carefully designed and constructed to create shade and shelter from the elements, using foam core and high quality materials to keep the weight as low as possible. With the hulls of the Voyage 520 live aboard cruiser, but an overall lighter vessel, the 520 DC is easily propelled by the twin 54 hp Yanmar diesels, is extremely fuel efficient under power, and with her 27' beam, a dream to manoeuvre. Under sail she will surprise most, with her well designed rig and easily driven hulls. With almost all the lines lead to the helm, the Captain can operate the vessel easily and efficiently, leaving the crew free to provide that extra personal service to clients. With almost no woodwork to maintain, the entire exterior and interior of this exemplary catamaran is simple to clean and maintain - another design feature reflecting the vast experience that went in to the design and construction of this and the rest of the Voyage line up.

Layout & Accommodations

Under deck layout lends this unique vessel to not only be used in day charter, but also for term charter. With two ensuite double cabins forward, (1 in each bow compartment) 2 double berths aft ( 1 in each stern cabin ), two additional heads located in the port hull midships, and a spacious galley located in the starboard hull midships, she can accommodate 8 guests below. On the bridge deck the ingeniously designed centrally located back to back seating area can be converted to beds for lounging during the day time, or night time sleeping accommodation for an additional two doubles - for those who prefer a more open sleeping area, and bringing her total accommodations to 12. This makes the 520 DC ideal for live aboard sailing adventure trips, snorkel/ dive/windsurf/surf/kite surf/hiking. etc.

Additional Information

This vessel sustained damage while secured on land during the passage of hurricane Irma in Tortola, BVI in 2017. All hull damage was professionally repaired to a high standard in Tortola by skilled craftsmen from the factory in South Africa. The vessel was then sailed to Grenada where almost all of the equipment on board was either replaced or refurbished. In addition, a custom hard top as described within this document was constructed and installed. The result is an almost better than new version of an already unique and special yacht.
