Descriptions
A main interior attraction of the Jeanneau DS models is the queen centerline aft cabin berth and ensuite full head/shower. The DS design allows for a person to sit up in the berth without hitting the cockpit floor! And the dome created by the cockpit table base forms large area above the bed with two opening hatches for air flow and light.
The forward cabin berth is a double and located in the Vee with a large combo head/shower ensuite.
The salon is bright and spacious with the added feature of the raised sole and larger "cat-eye" windows. The L-shaped galley is a step down to starboard of the companionway and the nav station is to port. A convertible dinette is forward and across from a comfortable settee.
Galley
The galley is large and functional with considerable storage cubbies above the counter and drawers below. The features include the double SS sink with hot/cold pressure water, a large refrigerator with small freezer and top and front access and an oversized separate freezer compartment. The propane stove has 3 burners and large oven. Also included is an installed microwave.
Engine & Mechanical
The engine is a reliable Yanmar 4JH model rated at 54hp. The access is provided by the removable companionway, a water tight hatch in the aft shower, removable panels in the aft cabin and a fourth access in the galley. The Hobbs meter on the tach display is not working.
A Max Power bow thruster is included to assist in tight maneuvering situations.
Electronics
The electronics are a Raymarine suite of systems with ST-70 Graphic display and Autopilot on the port helm and ST-70 Tridata at the starboard and a Raymarine Hybrid Touch chartplotter located at the cockpit table amid ship for viewing from either helm.
The VHF is an Icom IC-M504 at the nav station.
Electrical
The electrical power comes from a single 50A shore power connection that is supplemented by a Northern Lights 6KW diesel generator located between the helms in a special sound insulated space in a protective sound shield box. Current hours are about 2500.
At the electrical panel are monitors for the inverter/charger and battery status.
Sails & Rigging
The rig includes a standard in-mast Z-Spar furling main sail and a 140% genoa on a Harken furler.
The control lines all run to the cockpit on Harken gear. There are two Harken 50 two speed genoa primary winches and two Harken 40 winches (port side is two speed electric) on the coach roof to handle the mainsail. The genoa fairlead cars are controllable with lines lead to the cockpit.
Cockpit
On of the best features of the DS models is the large cockpit with the dual helms and open transom. The folding cockpit table provides access on both sides for serving guests. There is a custom bimini. In addition are custom cushions to add comfort the cockpit.
Deck Equipment
The ground tackle is a stainless steel 20kg (44lb) Bruce anchor with 200' all chain rode on a Quick electric windlass with controls on the fore deck and at helm.
