Overview
Avel Dro is a Bavaria Yachts 36 is a true blue-water vessel which was sailed from France to the Caribbean, before coming to the US. This vessel owners have just completed importing the vessel to USA and she is now available for sale.
Bavaria Yachts is the largest boatyard in Germany, dating back to 1978, and is one of the largest world-wide manufacturers of vessels in the 32'-50' range. The Bavaria 36 was designed with a couple or a single-handed sailor in mind, which also makes it very family friendly.
Avel Dro is owned by a French couple that began their sailing adventure in France; the vessel was kept in the Caribbean during the pandemic. The owners resumed their adventure and visited several islands before bringing her to the US. Their intended stop on the east coast was the Chesapeake, when family issues required them to return to France, and sell their beloved vessel.
"Avel Dro" refers to a wind shift. It is time for another shift in this vessel's life.

Descriptions
The Bavaria 36, a popular mid-range model, proves to be a splendid boat for modern sailors. The fabulously roomy interior presents itself surprisingly comfortable, provided with generous stowage, and finished in smooth mahogany. Her well-arranged layouts and her excellent sailing characteristics make the Bavaria 36 not only a solid and comfortable yacht, but a real pleasure to sail.
Bavaria 36 Construction
The Bavaria 36 is constructed with hand-laid fiberglass up to the water line. It is then foam cored above the waterline, and on deck. There are reinforced stringers, a Kevlar bow section, and the centerline is double laminated. Lloyd's Register gives the Bavaria 36 a LRQA Offshore Rating which is the highest rating given in the pleasure craft industry.
Bavaria 36 Accommodations
SALON:
The interior of Avel Dro is beautifully appointed with rich mahogany joinery. The composite teak and holly sole is easily maintained.
The forward facing navigation station is to starboard, aft. It is well organized with a large seat with a leatherette cushion. Storage is available under the seat, under the navigation table, and in the cabinets at the bulkhead and under the station. A little cabinet is built-in forward of the navigation station.
There are settees on each side of the salon which can be used as additional berths. The fabric of the settees is in good condition; the owner has kept them covered with custom made terry-cloth covers, which convey with the vessel. There are storage cabinets over the settees, and there is additional stowage beneath both settees.
A large mahogany table, with drop leafs, provides a large dining space.
The salon has 6' 3" headroom, which adds to its spaciousness. There are curtained opening portlights and an overhead hatch which provide both natural light and cross ventilation.
GALLEY:
The galley is to port and aft, which is a preferred location for open water cruising. It features a 12v counter access refrigerator/freezer, a gimballed propane stove with oven and cover, a double stainless steel sink, well-organized storage cabinets and drawers, and a clever trash bin with a self-opening lid. The blue Corian countertop compliments the interior décor. There is a portlight over the sink which provides natural light and ventilation.
AFT STATEROOM:
Avel Dro features a large aft stateroom aft to port. The double berth is under the cockpit and goes all the way to the aft bulkhead.
The stateroom features: two LED ceiling lights, open wall rack storage, a hanging locker, a locker with shelves, a cabinet to port, an opening curtained portlight, a fixed portlight, and access to the engine compartment.
HEAD:
The single head on Avel Dro is to starboard, aft of the navigation station. It features: a manual head, an opening curtained portlight, a Corian counter with molded sink, bulkhead storage, storage under the sink, a hanging wet locker, and a floor drain.
FORWARD V-BERTH STATEROOM:
The forward V-berth stateroom is well-appointed enough to be used as the owner's cabin, so it is nice enough to be used for guests. It has three overhead hatches for ventilation. There are two hanging lockers, and storage cabinets along the bulkheads. There is a huge storage area beneath the berth as well as under the seat to port.
