Overview
This owners version Catana 522 "Ocean Class" is a benchmark design and is without doubt one of the best choices if you are looking for a quality performance cruising catamaran. The "Ocean Class" Catana is the top range. The design and materials used in construction are impressive even by today's standards; the furniture is made with ultra light foam-cored material finished in a cherry wood veneer. The hulls are a distinctive asymmetrical shape which reduces it drag through the water, the hull construction is GRP with infused Twaron (kevlar). The dagger boards allow you to point higher into the wind than any fixed keel cat and reduce drag through the water, the ALUCARBON mast, kevlar shrouds (2019) and carbon bow-sprit are all engineered to maximize performance. Quality hydranet sails include :main, jib and genoa, as well a suite of light wind sails means you are ready to go. The original 78hp Volvo's were replaced with 110hp giving improved motoring performance making this Catana a great performer in all conditions.

Power is generated by:
- 4 new 180W solar panels flush mounted on the bimini, capable of charging at 30A in full sun.
- a 9KW Kohler generator feeding a charger/inverter capable of charging at 120A/24V.
- Auxiliary alternators on each engine capable of 110A/24V.
230V/50Hz power can be supplied by:
- a 5KW Victron charger/inverter.
- a backup 3KW Victron charger/inverter.
