Description

"Sea Hawk" 2003 Catalina 350

The space on this Catalina 350 was designed for comfort, safety, and ease of sailing.

The layout of the salon, aft and forward cabin is perfect for a family of four, a tele- commuting couple that desires are to explore and work, and/or a retire couple that will receive occasional visits of family and grandchildren.

"Sea Hawk" has a wing keel with a 4'6" draft. Delivering stability while providing access to areas that other 35 footers in its class cannot go. Making it perfect for sailing the waters of the islands.

The Catalina 350 is a very beaming boat - 13'. That runs back almost completely to the aft of the boat. This beam produces an enormous amount of space in the salon, aft cabin, and cockpit.

The cockpit with its 8-foot-long seat with a 13" high backrest creates a lounging area for crew and guests. The two shaded cushioned "observation seats" on the back rails are a favor place to be under sail. The winged cockpit table adds to enjoyable alfresco entertaining.

"Sea Hawk" has a custom helm seat that raises the helmsman to a level for easy viewing over the instruments. The extended footrest with a USCG IV throwable float, as its cushion, makes passages less strenuous. The three-sided enclosed area below the seat creates additional storage space, with easy reach from the helm; for the loose items that the helmsman needs: horn, binoculars, handheld VHF, etc.

The throttle and controls of the Universal 35 horsepower engine, with only an estimated 828 hours, is located on the binnacle. The Raymarine autopilot, when deployed, maintains a steady track. The helm's steering system was inspected and serviced in 2019

The Raymarine Axiom 12 chart plotter that integrates with the Raymarine apparent wind device - which is part of the Tri-data instrumentational panel was added in 2019.

All lines lead back to the cockpit. The 2019 in-mast furling mainsail, with the 2019 running rigging allows the main sail and genoa to be unfurled and furled all from the cockpit. The cockpit is uncluttered due to the 2 sets of three-line bags located on the cabin top near the line clutches.

The cockpit is protected from the environment by a dodger with clear flexible polyvinyl sheeting and a canvas bimini.

Entering the swing door companionway and descending into the salon you are greeted with a bright and spacious salon that has a 6'9" cabin height. The starboard side starts with a full "U" shape galley that consist of double deep stainless-steel sinks, microwave, two burner stove/oven combo, cold plate ice box, and a top and side access refrigerator. The galley has an abundance of drawers and a pull-out cutting board.

Moving forward is an innovated sitting area that creates two seats with shared table arrangement, or it converts to a three-seat lounge. Heading across the cabin, on the portside, is the entrance to the head/ shower compartment.

The head consist of an electric toilet, that has been recently serviced and a vanity sink. It leads into a separate shower that has a glass folding doors that prevents a "wetting" of the total head area.

The head has a dedicated door that leads to the forward cabin. The large V Berth has easy access sides. The storage area in this cabin is plentiful. Cabinets on both side with panel door storage area under the berth. The berth has a 6" mattress.

Heading aft, from the forward cabin along the port side is a settee that has a flatscreen TV hanging above it. There are two options for the table: a small "cocktail table or a full dinette table, which is stored in the aft cabin.

The settee end seating doubles for the navigational seating at the chart table.

The aft cabin, on the portside, features a huge athwart ships berth which has an opening hatch immediately ahead of the sleepers faces for ventilation and a view outside.

Broker Notes

The boat was designed for comfort. Catalina took a hard look at how people were going to "live on it". From the scoop swim platform with walk thru transom, storage under the steps large storage lockers in the cockpit - large enough to hold an inflatable tender', spacious cockpit and bright and breezy salon, and electric windlass for ease of anchoring I believe they accomplish it in this 35 footer.

I have sailed "Sea Hawk" numerous times. And she was a joy. If you are looking for a cruiser that performs well in all kinds of conditions and provides a comfort safe sailing experience this is the vessel.
