Overview

The President 42 Trawler offers buyers a mix of classic styling, practical accommodations and good build quality. President is one of Taiwan's most experienced builders so it comes as no surprise to find that the 42 is a well-finished boat. Built on a sea kindly semi-displacement hull with a relatively wide beam, the interior of the President 42 is notable for its large salon windows and lavish use of hand-rubbed cherry cabinetry. The two-stateroom layout is typical of a trawler this size. Both the guest and owner's staterooms have queen-sized berths, full standing enclosed showers (no wet heads) and electric toilets.  The galley--forward and to port in the salon--features a full-length Corian counter, a double stainless-steel sink and generous Norcold ac/dc refrigeration. A removable hatch in the salon sole provides access to a surprisingly spacious engine room with workbench and storage drawers. In the aft port corner of the master stateroom is a unique door to the aft deck that doubles as the exterior steps from the aft deck to the flybridge. Note that the integral swim platform is an extension of the hull and not simply bolted on.
