Accommodations• From the cockpit you enter a large main salon with large folding dinning table surrounded by u shaped sofa. There is a separate sofa across and then at station. 42 inch smart TV mounted on aft wall.
• Companionway aft leads to port and starboard guest cabins with full size bunks, hanging closets, and private heads.
• Further aft is the large owners cabin with two hanging closets, two private heads, port sofa / setee and a vanity desk.
• From the main salon forward to starboard is the galley and to port is a storage room with the washer / drier. The next cabin was converted to a single twin berth underneath which there is a sail locker holding the spinnakers. To starboard there Isa standing shower and a head. Forward there is the V berth with a hanging llocker

Emerald Lady HistoryEmerald Lady was built in
1985 with a five cabin charter layout. She was chartered by her original owners in the Virgin Islands and the Bahamas until
1998 when her current owners purchased her. Being a 40 year old cruising sailing yacht Emerald Lady has sailed in many areas, experienced a number of adventures, challenges, and some damage, all properly repaired, and has been consistently maintained by her experienced owners. Since
1998 she has had multiple upgrades, repairs and maintenance performed. Some of the most notable improvements and issues that were repaired include:
- There was limited cosmetic damage to Emerald Lady during the period it was in charter from 1985 to 1998. All cosmetic damage was repaired.
- Emerald Lady had some water intrusion early on and some of the teak and holly veneer cabin sole is stained.
- A custom swim platform and stainless steel swim ladder was added in 1999.
- Hull, deck and masts painted with Matterhorn White Awlgrip in 1999.
- A staysail self tending boom with staysail sheet, furling lines and mainsail halyard brought into the cockpit through sheet stoppers to electric winches for ease of handling in 2000.
- The mainsail reefing lines come back through sheet stoppers into the cockpit to electric winches.
- Huge aft cabin remodeled and rebuilt to an owners captain stateroom with two ensuite heads with dedicated showers and electric toilets in 2000.
- A heavy duty Wesmar bow thruster was installed in May 2002.
- New 1.5 ounce spinnaker with sock, well preserved in 2005.
- New 2.0 ounce spinnakeer with sock in approximately 2010.
- A 26' featuring MaxProp was added in approximately 2010.
- Some degree of blistering was noted during bottom refreshes from 1999 until 2010.
- The bottom was peeled, dried out and a new bottom was rebuilt with epoxy in 2010 by Snead Island Boat Works.
- Three solar panels and a wind generator were added in approximately 2010.
- A custom bimini hard top was fabricated and installed in 2012.
- An area of moisture was found in the hull sides in about 2012. The issue was repaired to marine standards.
- The centerboard was initially made to Irwin Yacht specifications and installed by Snead Island Boat Works in 2014.
- New 110% jib and new staysail in approximately 2016.
- The wind generator was replaced in approximately 2018.
- A Winslow 8 person offshore life raft was purchased in 2020.
- New Doyle mainsail in 2020.
- New Doyle mizzen in 2021.
- The yacht was repowered in 2021 with a 273 horsepower John Deere four cylinder diesel engine.
- An upgraded custom centerboard was fabricated in 2022 and installed by Snead Island Boat Works.
- Lifelines were replaced with Dyneema in 2022.
- Hurricane Milton damage in 2024. New Foss Foam rudder was fabricated and installed by Snead Island Boat Works. New Dolphin fabricated and installed by Snead Island Boat Works, Some toe rail and rub rail damage repaired. Some damage to stanchions on the port side and port side stern pulpit, all repaired. All damage repaired and installed in 2024.
- Entire bank of AGM batteries were replaced in 2024 and 2025, including the bow thruster battery.
- Standing rigging was inspected and updated as needed in 2025.
Closing Thoughts12. IN CLOSING:
• Emerald Lady is a spacious cruising sailboat with the comforts of home. She is well equipped to be managed shorthanded. Her present owner has enjoyed her for 23 years. With his children out of the house he wants to downsize.
