The Ocean Alexander 456 Classico is a high quality, traditional Ed Monk Jr designed trawler with timeless lines that will never go out of style. These high end boats are extremely well built and their interior woodwork is second to none. Her design incorporates all the famous Monk features: double chine for a stable and dry ride, cutaway keel for significant running gear protection and nimble maneuverability, wide beam for improved roomy house layout, The two stateroom,, two head configuration maximizing the interior living space allowing for more room for the galley, lower helm and a comfortable salon. Her full walk around decks make it easy for docking or mooring. Of particular note is the 456  design has incorporated a full length concave lifting area on each side of the hull contributing greatly to her exceptional seakeeping abilities and performance characteristics.

Designed by Ed Monk, the Ocean Alexander 456 Classicco features a double chine for a stable and dry ride, a cutaway keel for propeller protection and nimble maneuverability, and a wide beam for extra living space. In addition, a full length concave lifting area on each side of the hull contributes greatly to the exceptional performance characteristics regardless of engine option. The 456 Classicco is a performance trawler with eurostyle design; it combines great seaworthiness and a comfortable dry ride with an interior that will satisfy the most discerning yachtsmen. Twin 210 hp freshwater-cooled diesel engines deliver a 12-knot cruise speed and a 15-knot top speed, although engine options are available with larger or smaller horsepower ratings. Traditional double cabin design features a galley - salon combination that lets the cook be part of the action while keeping the dirty dishes hidden. "Workable" best describes the U-shaped galley with large countertop areas covered in off-white Formica, a stainless steel double sink, teak cabinetry, an electric stove (propane optional), and 110 - 220 dual voltage refrigerator - freezer. The spacious main salon not only displays Ocean Alexander's famous artistry in handcrafted woodwork, but also provides a multifunction area which contains an L-shaped settee (which can be converted into a berth) with a glass top Hi-Lo table, an entertainment center, and sufficient storage on portside. Teak cabinetry, teak parquet flooring, brass hardware, and hand-rubbed satin varnish provide soft, warm styling to the interior. The master stateroom features a queen walk around berth (2 location options), night stands, reading lamps, a cedar-lined hanging locker, opening windows with screens, ample drawer space, a private head with stall shower, mirrors, and lights. The guest stateroom forward, with vee-berths and filler section, make a comfortable compartment adaptable for a variety of guests; it features a large hanging locker, drawers and storage under the berths, a private head with stall shower lighting, and a GFI outlet to prevent shocks.

2022  Evaluation
OVERALL EVALUATION The Ocean Alexander 456 Classico is a well-crafted yacht with full walk around decks. The interior design roomy layout is accommodated due to her wide 15'6" beam. The cutaway keel proves sufficient clearance for her running gear in the event of a grounding. the 456 is accented by the bridge "eyebrow overhang, and the house is set forward on the foredeck to effectivel expand the dimensions of the Salon and Galley. The 456 offers a two stateroom configuration with a raised double berth guest stateroom forward offering large storage area under the berth, along with a separate lighted locker. This stateroom also includes an ensuite head and stall shower. A master stateroom is located immediately aft of the salon with a walk around queen island berth, dressing table and a full ensuite head with a stall shower. In addition, this stateroom offers considerable storage in the form of four lighted lockers and numerous drawers. The U-shaped galley is forward and one step down from the salon and lower helm. The vessels salon provides a roomy space for relaxing or entertaining. The space provides an L-shaped settee to starboard with storage below and loaded with spare parts, an entertainment center with Bose stereo system to port along with two new chairs.  In addition there is a teak desk with multifunctional, adjustable chair for either the lower helm station or desk. Quick and easy access to either port or starboard deck can be made through a port or starboard sliding raised door. The 456 hull design with its wide beam and hard chines provides comfort and reliability for offshore and inland cruising. This 456 with its current electronics and safety gear and systems makes this yacht a real long-range cruiser for coastal navigatiion.and cruising. The upholstery and finishes are clean and in excellent condition. The interior of this vessel is cleaned well and without foul odors, quality hand crafted joinery. The teak parquet soles and solid doors in cabins and hull surfaces are in good condition with some small cosmetic deficiencies, but with overall all well cared for.  The engine compartment and below deck are clean  and orderly.  Based on a detail engine system survey, the specifications of the engines and generator meet or exceed expectations with some minor issues noted in the report which do not affect the ability to use this vessel. Full copies of this engine survey, oil analysis and vessel survey are available to potential buyers non request.
