Descriptions

Boat history

Introduced in 1984, the 32 Convertible became one of Carver's best-selling boats in the 1980s thanks to an innovative floorplan. The 32 was built on a solid fiberglass hull with a wide beam, relatively high freeboard, and very little transom deadrise. Her conservative profile masks what was once considered an unusual cabin layout.

Where most convertibles have the engine room under the salon floor, in the 32 the engines are farther aft, under the cockpit sole. This allowed Carver designers to insert a spacious midcabin under the dinette, accessed from the galley, with a double berth and a large hanging locker. With that, the Carver 32 became a two-stateroom boat--rare in a 32-foot convertible. The galley features a full-size refrigerator, and the head has a separate stall shower. Two lift-out hatches in the cockpit sole provide good service access to the engines. Additional features include a transom door, swim platform, bow pulpit, and bridge seating for five.
