The 39 is the predecessor to the current Lagoon 40 model.   Both models share the same dimensions with only subtle changes, but you can own this like new 39 for considerably less investment.    Both boats share the same rig design and living spaces.   She is easy to manage with a set back mainsail, and a self tacking headsail.  Her rig is ICW friendly with a 61' mast

Respect (named in memory of the sellers father) has been beautifully maintained and very lightly used.  Her owner has kept her with an open checkboat behind his home and has used her mainly as a weekend sailor.  She has incredibly low hours on her engines, genset and systems.   Her bilges, machinery spaces and hard to reach spots are all clean and orderly.  If the boat ever needed anything, her owner took care of it immediately.

She has an extensive list of upgrades over the past two years.   Although her owners has loved her like family,  they have decided that a trawler fits their lifestyle more closely.

This boat is ready to go, and will not disappoint!

The new generation Lagoon 39 paved the way for many subsequent models to follow.  VPLP created a catamaran that was much easier to handle than the competition, with a smaller square topped mainsail and a self tending headsail.  All that is needed to tack, is a simple turn of the wheel. When it's time to crack off and head downwind, unfurl the Code Zero sail and she is very lively.  Visibility from the helm is excellent, and the wide decks make moving forward a breeze. The helmsman can also handle lines from the helm, which makes single handed docking a reality.   The success of the 39 lead to many more Lagoon designs using the same formula for rigging a modern catamaran. The Current lineup of the 40, 42, 46, 50, 52, and Seventy 7 all employ the same designed aft mounted mast.   I have sailed this 39 on several occasions, and have always been impressed with her ability to point and easily hit 8-9 knot speeds. The Screecher fills the gap, and makes her a very well rounded sailor.

Layout & Accommodations

The interior layout of the Lagoon 39 is almost identical to the current Lagoon 40 model, and the not yet released Excess 12.    This owners version allows the entire port hull to be a dedicated private suite, complete with seating areas and plenty of hanging lockers.  She owners suite also features a luxurious head and separate shower. The starboard hull offers two additional double berths fore and aft, and an additional head/ shower.

Galley

The aft facing galley is partially open to the cockpit for easy entertaining.  There is plenty of storage, counter space, a dedicated refrigerator and freezer.

Deck & Equipment

The helm is situated at deck level for easy boat handling.  All lines lead to the cockpit and a multipurpose electric Harken winch.

Electronics & Navigation

Respect features top of the line Raymarine Hybrid Touch instrumentation.   Everything is in perfect working order, and is very intuitive.

Electrical, Power & Plumbing

The electrical system on board consists of high end systems from Mastervolt.

Engine & Mechanical

The low hour engines are incredibly clean and well kept.   Each engine is accessed via sound insulated deck hatches. There are removable covers over each engine that allow the space to be used for storage. The genset is installed in a forward deck compartment, creating a very quiet delivery of power.  So much better than the boats with the generator mounted in the cockpit.

Sails & Rigging

The ICW friendly 61' rig is perfect for cruising the coastal USA.  The set back mast allows the mainsail and smaller boom allows the rig to be more manageable, provides weight distribution and gives the headsail space to be self tending.   The new helm enclosure is in near perfect condition.
